How is the area by the dock (seaweed, sandy?)
We have a seawall that you can walk down to the water and we have steps off our dock. At the waters edge is sand. The association has the lake sprayed for weeds 3-4 times during the summer. We along with our neighbors swim in front of our cottages. The seaweed beds are about 50 yards past the dock making plenty of room to swim and cool down.
How is fishing?
The fishing off the dock is awesome towards the end of the day. Small fish can be caught throughout the day. Big bass can be seen swimming in the shallows during the day but are often tough to get them to bite. In the evening it gets better. After dark the bullheads surround the dock and you can catch 10+ a night. It is great fun for young kids. Use glow in the dark bobbers and night crawlers.
The fishing off the Pontoon boat can be fantastic at times. We have caught Bass up to 20 inches. There is also an abundance of hammer handle Pike, but we have caught them up to 32 inches. Crappie, bluegill and Perch can all be found in the lake. We have a lot of success with crawlers on perch rigs. We also use a 2/3 ounce blue/silver and green/silver cleo. You can also catch fish on fake worms as well fished wacky style. The hammer handle pike will bite just about anything. We will have a map at the cottage where the best places to fish are. Feel free to send us pictures for our website of any catches.
What happens if the weather is nasty?
Unfortunately, we can’t control the weather. However, you can still enjoy yourself inside the cottage. We have games, puzzles, books, video’s and DVD’s available for your convenience. Put down the cell phones and enjoy spending quality time togetherJ
